The Manticores - New Who

This Atlanta band has created this defiant shoegaze sound. Generally shoegaze is what it seems like, pretty straight forward, loud, and melancholy. What these two have done is add this vigorous element to it and level of aggressiveness that isn’t normally seen, which is nice. It’s a nice feather in the cap of music.

You can download this single along with their EP Earth and Arrows.

Last night, I watched a screening of the upcoming film The Perks of Being a Wallflower based on the book by Stephen Chbosky. All I can say is WOW. The film was so beautifully made; the actors portrayed the characters perfectly, the film stayed true to the book and all the subtleties of the book remained the same. One thing I did not know walking in was that the author, Chbosky, produced, directed, and co-wrote the screenplay for the film. Damn, he’s good! I just have to say, brava. It exceeded all my expectations so if you have a chance to watch the film go see it! It will make you laugh, cry, laugh while your are crying and cry while you are laughing.
